There is a growing movement to revive the Noyyal River. The Noyyalaaru Trust is working to clean up the river, conserve water, and promote sustainable development. The trust is implementing a number of projects, including:
Environmental
The Noyyal River is an important ecosystem that provides habitat for a variety of plants and animals. The health of the river is essential for the health of the ecosystem. Noyyalaaru Trust is working to
- 1) Protect and restore the Noyyal River ecosystem.
- 2) Restore riparian habitats, along the riverbank that support plant and animal life.
- 3) Reduce pollution and conserve water, which are essential for the health of the ecosystem.

Solid Waste Management
The Noyyal River is facing a number of challenges, including pollution from agriculture, industry, and sewage. Solid waste management is an important part of addressing these challenges. The Noyyalaaru Trust is working to
- 1) Promote sustainable solid waste management practices.
- 2) Encourage communities to reduce, reuse, and recycle waste.
- 3) Improve waste collection and disposal systems.

Cultural Programs
During ancient times – The Chera, Chola, Pandiya rulers : 1000 – 1300 AD not only used the Noyyal River for Agriculture and water transport with the foreign countries but it was also a cultural hub with its Paditurai for Ganga Aratis, festivities and fairs. Noyyal was the identity of the Kongu Region , hence Noyyalaaru Trust is working to
- 1) Review its cultural and traditional significance by building Paditurai at various locations for Ganga Arati , Tarapanam and other Pooja activites
- 2) Restoring and maintaining sites of archiealogical significance across the river
- 3) Restore riparian habitats, along the riverbank that support plant and animal life.

ACTIVITIES
Noyyal Walk
On 18-05-2024, Noyyal walk started from Sadi-vayal. A pooja was performed by His Holyness Marudhachala Adigalar for statue of Noyyal Matha. This was attended by Swamiji Ajit Chaitanya, Mr. Subramanian, Mr. Aruchami (vivasaigal-sangam) and other farmers of that area.
RATHA YAtra
From 23-06-2023 to 06-7-2023 with goddess mother noyyal Idol along with Isha Adiyogi, 60 sanyasees of Akila Bharatiya Sannyasees Sangam conducted Ratha Yatra to bring awareness about the Noyyal River.
On the way 12 schools and 4 colleges, (Chinmaya Vidyalaya vadavilli CBSC and Matric 350 NSS students, Ranganathar college 240 NSS students, Shree Vasavi matric school Telungupalayam Piruvu 300 students, Maranagowder Matric school 250 students and teachers. At Swami Vivekaganadha Matric school Ammapalayam Tirupur 2000 students from various school from Tirupurparticipated in competitions) around 20,000 students were involved in giving a reception and awareness of water condition in River Noyyal. Competitions like drawing, debt, eloquence, shortflim, model STP making were conducted.
On 6-08-2023 along with Hariyogalayam Thoppampatti Pirivu, 30 schools participated with more than 500 students were awarded certificate and cash prizes.
AWARENESS PROGRAM
From 25-8-2023 to 31-08-2023, 7days, 12seminars, and Aarti at Cholan Paditurai perur were organized as a part of awareness program. “TamilNadu Governor Honorable R.N RAVI, Telangana and Pondicherry lieutenant Governor Honorable Tamilisai Soundarrajan, Jharkhand Governor C.P Radha Krishnan, TamilNadu Minister Sekar babu, TamilNadu BJP Leader K.Annamalai, Dharmapuri Adheenam, Hindu Munnani Leader Subramaniyam ji, Vanati Srinivasan Coimbatore South MLA” were are the CHIEF GUEST on the entire programs
WATER TESTING
In coordination with WWF at 6 places starting from 0km sadivayal water testing was conducted along noyyal river.
WATER SAMPLES
On 21-08-23 Water samples from Padithurai, Gandhi Nagar, Siruvani road Bridge, Puttu vikki junction, Masani Amman kovil and STP Treated water ar CRPF samples given to Tamilnadu Agicultural University and Analyised with detailed report.

NEW MOON AARATI
To worship Noyyal river Arati was taken at 5 places last year Perur, Irugur, Vellalore, Sulur, Noyyal Chellandiamman temple on every Full moon Day evening from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. From August 2023 few more places were started at Sadivayal, Chitirai savadi Anaicut, Agraharam pudur, etc., to conduct New Moon Aarati
Through the trust T-shirts (4 Small, 4 Medium, 4 Large, 4 Extra large each) were donated at free of cost at ten places during Noyyal Ratha Yatra, sponsored by K.Subramaniam as token of appreciation of service.
PLASTIC FREE NOYYAL
At the Environment Day we participated in the beginning of PLASTIC FREE NOYYAL inaugurated by Sri. Shanmugasundaram, Member of Parliament, Thondamuthur Constituency where 75 Isha Samskiriti Students, started picking the plastic in Noyyal. In the evening tree plantation drive was started in Narasipuram were 500 tree saplings were planted.
TULIR VANAM
On 5th August 2023, ‘Tulir Vanam ‘ (An Urban forest project) 60 seva students of Chinmaya Vidyalaya (Matric & CBSE) planted 400 plants, where we co participated in the project done by Siruthuli, Rotary Coimbatore Central supported by Perur-Chettipalayam Panchayat.
SEMINAR ON WATER MANAGEMENT
On 30th August 2023, a seminar on water manangement was organised at Peruradheenam where 400 NSS students of Renganathar College of Engineering, PSG college oa Arts and Science,100 sannyasees of ABSS, 150 public, Agri farmers were participated.
ECO CLUB
On 5/01/2024 Noyyal River Conservation & Solidwaste Management Awareness Program Conducted at Government Arts College for ECO Club Students, 200 Students Were participated.
BJP farmers meet - Erode vellalar college
On 5th February 2024 visited Vellalar College of Women. Conducted Awareness Program with 400 NSS Students. Ajit Chaitanya briefed about activities of Noyyalaaru Trust. S.K Subramaniam communicated precisely ,How technology in ISRO was helpful in presenting data about water resources for entire country to Central Government ,through inspired vision of Late President Dr.A.P.J.Abdul Kalam.Cordinator projet S.Sathasivam praised the role of youths ,serving to water resources is a means to express our gratitude to Lord.
Later Rahul ,Vincent of WWF conducted a session on quality of water assessment and took practical sessions for more than 2 hour .Mr.Prasanth of Recycle ,Recompose Pvt Limited spoke about sources segrergation of waste and spoke about enterprunership in solid waste management.
As field activity we are planning to make a visit to the river along Noyyal.
